Trophic Levels

The field of optometry deals with the health of the eye. Optometrists are the primary eye care providers. Their roles involve correcting refractive errors, diagnosing and treating ocular disease.

The Optometry Admission Test (OAT) is a comprehensive test consisting of biology, general chemistry, organic chemistry, reading comprehension, physics and quantitative reasoning material that is required of any optometry school applicant to complete. It is administered by ASCO and serves as an indicator of knowledge of applicants, supplementing their GPA, extracurricular activities and letters of recommendation.
