What is the OAT?
The Optometry Admission Test (OAT) is a comprehensive test consisting of biology, general chemistry, organic chemistry, reading comprehension, physics and quantitative reasoning material that is required of any optometry school applicant to complete. It is administered by ASCO and serves as an indicator of knowledge of applicants, supplementing their GPA, extracurricular activities and letters of recommendation.
The OAT (Optometry Admission Test) is the standardized test that is required for entry into optometry school. It is composed of 4 sections: Survey of Natural Sciences (Biology, Chemistry, Organic Chemistry), Reading Comprehension, Physics and Quantitative Reasoning.
